MAT (Metro Area Transit) Paratransit

Purpose of Service:
Non-emergency lift equipped transportation service for people who are functionally unable to ride the MATBUS fixed route. MAT Paratransit follows the service standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Type of Service: Shared ride service which means the driver may pick up and drop off other passengers on the way to the rider’s destination.
Hours of Service: 6:15am to 10:15pm, Monday through Friday. 7:15am to 10:15pm on Saturday.
7:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday for Fargo and West Fargo residents.
Scheduling Requirements: Reservations must be made at least one day before the scheduled ride. Reservations are accepted up to 7 days prior to the scheduled ride. 
Eligibility Requirements: A person who is functionally able to use the fixed route bus including getting to the bus stop, using the ramp equipped bus, and navigating the fixed route system may not be eligible for Paratransit.  Applications are available at www.matbus.com and Metro Area Transit, 650 23rd St. N, Fargo, ND 58102. Eligibility can be permanent, temporary, or conditional and is determined within 3 weeks of receiving a complete application and professional verification.  
Cost of ride (as of January 1, 2012): $3.00 per ride
North Dakota Medicaid: No
Minnesota Medicaid: No
Cost to bring personal care attendant (PCA): None
Cost to bring one guest: $3.00 per ride
Service Area: Within the city limits of Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead, and Dilworth
Driver Assistance: Door through first door service and assistance with 2 packages.
Type of Vehicles: Lift equipped vans for up to 19 passengers. Weight limit for lift is 600 pounds.
Deliver Empty Wheelchair, Scooter or Oxygen Tank to Passenger: No
