Starting salary is $51,022 a year and up to $54,018 a year for current or former law enforcement officers.

Preparing for Testing
Applicants may prepare for the written exam by downloading the Police Orientation Guide at http://www.fpsi.com/police-orientation-guide-download-disclaimer/ You will want to download the NPST Candidate Orientation Guide.
On the day of testing
Applicants will first take the written test. Those applicants who successfully pass the written exam with a 75% or above will move on to the oral interview panel. Those applicants who successfully pass the oral interview panel with a 75% or above will complete a Personal Employment Profile questionnaire.
You must bring with you:
Interviews for those who are licensed or license eligible, and those who are traveling in from out of town will immediately follow the written exam.
