Community Service Officers
The Fargo Police Department has five Community Service Officers (CSO) who perform a variety of duties involving the enforcement of regulations pertaining to animal control and parking enforcement.
CSO’s locate and secure lost, abused or nuisance animals. They provide information and assistance to residents regarding animal and parking ordinances. CSO’s respond to and conduct follow-up investigations regarding animal bites, animal cruelty, barking dogs, animals at large, parking, abandoned vehicles, and many other animal and parking complaints.
CSO’s perform parking enforcement in all areas of the city. CSO’s also are responsible for picking up and locating owners of abandoned bicycles, tagging and impounding abandoned vehicle and conducting numerous errands for many departments within the City of Fargo.
