FAQ: Floodplains

How do I know if my property is in a floodplain?

You can find a map of the floodplain on the City’s interactive GIS:

  1. Open the Interactive GIS Map.
  2. After the disclaimer screen, click on the binoculars symbol at the top which allows you to search by address, parcel number, or subdivision.
  3. In the left hand column there is a layer called “FEMA Floodplain”. Clicking on that will bring up the floodway, 100 year floodplain, and 500 year floodplain.

Non-interactive current and proposed floodplain maps are also available.
