Civil Service Commission

This commission aims to ensure that all employees of the City of Fargo receive fair and equal treatment.

The commission hears appeals on disciplinary cases, investigates complaints related to employment administration, and presents proposed employment rules and regulations to the Fargo City Commission for approval. 

Presenting a matter to commissioners

Employees who want to have a matter heard by the commission can contact the Human Resources office to ask that the matter be placed on the next meeting's agenda.

If an employee is not satisfied with the decision of the Civil Service Commission, she/he has the right to present the matter to the Fargo City Commission for consideration and determination.

Meeting Information

The Civil Service Commission meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. The commission meets in the City Commission Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, which is located at 200 Third Street North.

Meetings are cancelled if there are no matters to be heard by the commission.
