Princess Kay Plum
Prunus nigra 'Princess Kay'
15' x 15', white flowers, no fruit production, yellow to reddish fall color.
This tree is a variety of Canada Plum that was discovered in Itasca County, Minnesota. It is grown in the nursery trade for its excellent flowering characteristics. It is also one of the first to flower, usually in late April.
Caution should be taken to plant at a proper depth. Planting too deep will severely stress this plant, as does all varieties in the Prunus genus.
