Redmond Linden

Tilia americana 'Redmond'

The most distinct feature with this tree compared to the American Linden is its striking pyramidal form and the reddish twig color on its new growth.  Its form is so dense that many observers ask how often we shape the trees; our reply is "never", its just a characteristic of the cultivar.  One other observation that we have noticed with this variety is its tenacity to hold onto leaves in the fall and sometimes into early winter.
