American Linden
Tilia americana
60' x 40', yellow fall color, pyramidal shape. This tree is native to the Red River Valley and many large specimens can be found along our boulevards. It is commonly used as a replacement for American elm; however, it does not tolerate "wet feet". Care should be taken not to plant too deep or over water. Many varieties of this tree are available in the nursery trade.
