Coulees Crossing Flood Risk Management

The City of Fargo, with assistance from Houston Engineering, has been developing a project within the Coulees Crossing neighborhood to reduce the reliance on temporary measures during an emergency flood fight.  In 2011 the City constructed a permanent levee along the west side of the neighborhood.  Also in 2011, the City converted an emergency levee along the north side to a temporary levee so that it was able to be mowed and maintained until further analysis was completed in this neighborhood and the Oakcreek neighborhood.  Now that a recommended alignment has been chosen in Oakcreek, the Coulees Crossing permanent project can move forward and be constructed.

A neighborhood meeting was held on July 10, 2013 to discuss the remaining project along the north side of the development.  Neighborhood comments will be incorporated into the final design of the project.  It is anticipated that this project will be bid in early September 2013 and the construction will be completed in the fall of 2013 with the exception of punch list items, which will occur in the spring of 2014.
