Business Licensing

The city does not require business licenses for every type of commerce, but the Fargo Municipal Code does require a city licenses for the business listed below and at left.

You can apply for a license by filling out an application form and remitting it to the Auditor's Office.

Other required licenses

Separate applications are required for the following business and activities: 

  • Alcohol
  • Automotive service station (full or self-service)
  • Bulk oil plants
  • Dance hall
  • Businesses that display sexual devices
  • Re-roofing
